Issue / Symptom:
Procedure for upgrading firmware
 
NOTE!
Reloading the firmware will set the printer to factory default values. Print the printer's Configuration Report before upgrading then use this report for restoring non-default values after the upgrade.
 
Procedure:
 
Flashing firmware to Local printer:
  1. Put the printer into 'boot-mode' by pressing and holding the '1', '4' and 'online' keys while powering the printer ON.
  2. Send the firmware to the printer using one of these methods
    1. the DOS COPY/B command
    2. PORT DOS utility that sends raw files directly to a printer's serial or parallel port
  3. The printer will shows the process of the update in the display, then it will initialize when reloading is completed.
  4. NVRAM must be initialized for the new firmware:
    - Power the printer OFF.
    - Press all four buttons beneath the printer display (keys 1 to 4 inc) and power the printer ON keeping all four buttons pressed until the message "Loading Default" is displayed in the printer display.
Flashing firmware to Remote printer:
Browse to the printer's IP Address. You will be presented with the printer's embedded WebPanel. Click on Printer Actions and there is a selection to upgrade the firmware.

Additonal Notes/Comments:

After re-loading, set any non-default values using the Configuration Report that you printed before upgrading.
